HP Mini 110 designer notebook Studio Tord Boontje now available with Windows 7

HP’s couple of designer netbooks based on the HP Mini 110: “Studio Tord Boontje” edition and “Vivienne Tam designer” edition was made public couple of months back. As published here, “We have come to the ‘Studio Tord Boontje’ edition is now available with Windows 7 Starter edition”. Also quoting the words, published on the website which says, “Frankly speaking, if you ask us, we won’t recommend you to buy this netbook as it runs Atom N270 which is, by no means, the most advanced and power-sipping processor. Secondly, the machine is over-priced for what it offers. 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM coupled with N270 makes the overall deal look awful.”

Come December and MSI will be there with its Next Generation netbooks

According to Digitimes, In December, you will see lot of netbooks in the market based on new generation of CPUs by Intel, especially by MSI. The new netbooks will have the Pine Trail-M platform as expected. Windows 7 and features touch screen capabilities are also expected this year to the year for tablet netbooks.

Some technical advancements offered by Intel’s next generation of netbook processor:

  • reduced motherboard realeastate: 2174mm(Atom)->773mm(Pineview).
  • Better memory support from N270’s DDR2 533 to DDR2 667
  • GPU core frequencies increased from 133MHz to 200MHz
  • PCB design now uses only 4 layers compared to 6 layers, which was previously used by Intel Atom
  • TDP dropped from 8W to 7W
