HP’s couple of designer netbooks based on the HP Mini 110: “Studio Tord Boontje” edition and “Vivienne Tam designer” edition was made public couple of months back. As published here, “We have come to the ‘Studio Tord Boontje’ edition is now available with Windows 7 Starter edition”. Also quoting the words, published on the website which says, “Frankly speaking, if you ask us, we won’t recommend you to buy this netbook as it runs Atom N270 which is, by no means, the most advanced and power-sipping processor. Secondly, the machine is over-priced for what it offers. 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM coupled with N270 makes the overall deal look awful.”

Priced at Rs 21,000

ASUS is now offering EEE 1005HA Business Edition. Asus wants to mark its recognition in the market of business netbooks which is mainly dominated by HP and Lenovo so far. Business edition comes with 2GB RAM as standard and runs Windows XP Professional (instead of Home edition). Vista  is also available.

Black and white are the available colors.  Atom N280 processor, same 10.1-inch screen, 10.2 hours battery life are the rest of the specs.

Note: Price of ASUS EEE 1005HA is Rs 21,500 (non business edition)

HP Mini 110 netbook’s resolution has been changed from 1024×576 to 1024×600. If you still want to go for a higher resolution then, you have the option of choosing  much higher 1366 x 768 display on the HP Mini 110. Yes, problem of tiny text may arise in for a 10-inch display.

Many might have a misconception regarding 24pixels, but to clear that it do make a difference, it makes dialog boxes visible which could not be seen earlier due to 576 vertical pixels.

HP recently unmasked its another Mini 110 designer netbook, this time by Tord Boontje. Recently, it has also rolled out its second Vivienne Tam designer netbook (HP Mini 110).

Feministic looks, priced at $399, it is lower than the Vivienne Tam designer netbook.

Going according to news source ‘gadgetmix’ which says that the upcoming 11.6 inch netbook by HP Mini 311c will have HD display, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi (b/g), a 6 cell battery and NVIDIA ION LE graphics.

Measures 11.4″ x 8.03″ x 1.2″ and weighs 1.4kg (3.2 pounds) and priced at  £292.58 excluding VAT, which is about Rs 25,000

HP mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition netbook is a cool looking netbook in the market. This machine appeared late last year in US and costed $700. Although HP India still has it for sale, but we are yet to see one in person. It comes in red color and has floral pattern on the lid. Tge original is designed by a designer called Vivienne Tam. Sadly this cheap clone is made by Qifang Electronics and is being sold for $300.
