A netbook based on yet to come Atom N450 has been planned by Gigabyte. It will be rolled out in the end of this year or in the beginning of next year. The Atom N450 is the true successor of the Atom N2×0 as it is powerful (not as weak as Z-series) and power-frugal at the same time.
Gigabyte also has in mind to launch some ultra thin in the market.

HP’s couple of designer netbooks based on the HP Mini 110: “Studio Tord Boontje” edition and “Vivienne Tam designer” edition was made public couple of months back. As published here, “We have come to the ‘Studio Tord Boontje’ edition is now available with Windows 7 Starter edition”. Also quoting the words, published on the website which says, “Frankly speaking, if you ask us, we won’t recommend you to buy this netbook as it runs Atom N270 which is, by no means, the most advanced and power-sipping processor. Secondly, the machine is over-priced for what it offers. 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM coupled with N270 makes the overall deal look awful.”

Thin and light Qbox N270, Foxconn’s new nettop announced in Taiwan, which weighs just 700g. Linux or Windows XP as OS. It can be sticked to monitor via mount.
It has Intel Atom N270 processor, 250GB Hard disk, 1GB memory and GMA 950 graphics.

ASUS is now offering EEE 1005HA Business Edition. Asus wants to mark its recognition in the market of business netbooks which is mainly dominated by HP and Lenovo so far. Business edition comes with 2GB RAM as standard and runs Windows XP Professional (instead of Home edition). Vista is also available.
Black and white are the available colors. Atom N280 processor, same 10.1-inch screen, 10.2 hours battery life are the rest of the specs.
Note: Price of ASUS EEE 1005HA is Rs 21,500 (non business edition)

Once again Sony Vaio P is cloned. And this time it has 10-inch screen with 1024×600 resolution and has Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD. And has 2 USB 2.0 ports like that VAIO P, but weighs more than that, its 1.16 kg.
It might deceive you at first look, but soon you’ll come to know that it is fake with lower res-screen and less RAM. Also, it is not that portable. The original one has 1600×768 display, 8-inch screen and weighs less than 650gm.

Acer’s Android netbook is available at Amazon.com for pre-order. 10.1” Acer Aspire D250 netbook with two operating systems: Windows XP and Google Android. Has an Intel Atom N280 processor, 10.1-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, WiFi b/g/n, 160GB HDD, 1GB RAM and 6-cell battery.

This Lenovo Ideapad U150 got noticed at CEATEC Japan. Instead of the usual Atom,it uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It comes with 250GB hard disk, 2GB RAM, Intel GMA X4500 graphic chipset. And it weighs around just 1.35kg and is 13.5mm thick only making it very comfortable to carry. It has a full size keyboard and has decent-size touchpad.
There with a leather palm rest and patterns all over its body. Certainly, a rare thing to see.

Samsung N510 powered by 11.6-inch ION-powered is up there at Samsung UK officially now. In UK it is there with beefier specs, has an Atom N280 processor and 5900mAh battery, instead of an Atom N270 processor and 5200mAh 6-cell battery. In US too, it is being sold with Atom N280 processor instead of N270.
Again, Samsung is ignoring the massive Indian market and we have been shoved with stupid models like Samsung N120 which are just like basic netbooks in town.

The much awaited Aspire 1410 is there in the US for sale. It was earlier called as the 11.6” Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T netbook. The much craze for this netbook was its ‘Intel ULV SU3500 (1.4GHz) processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD and GMA 4500MHD Graphics’, none of which are found in regular netbooks. It is also there with a Webcam, draft-N wireless LAN, 6-cell battery and Vista Home Premium OS.
Not forgetting that SU3500 is more powerful than any Intel Atom processor made till date regardless of higher clock frequencies being possessed by the Atom processors. And it results in Vista would run much better on 1810T than on any Atom powered netbook.
